Ninja Challenge League Qualifier #1

The first NSW Ninja Challenge League qualifier event of 2025 will be held at Ninja Kids Brookvale on Sunday, March 2nd. It is ninja competition open to all ninjas born between 2011 and 2018. It can be treated as a stand alone event, or as a chance to qualify for the national finals.

Schedule (TBC)

  • Kids (Born 2017-18) – 10am
  • Mature Kids (Born 2015-16) – 11am
  • Pre-teens (Born 2013-14) – 12pm
  • Teens (Born 2011-12) – 1pm

Podiums will follow each age category. Finalised schedule will be sent out once registrations close and course videos will be shared.

Format

The run order at Ninja Challenge qualifier events is randomly generated by a spreadsheet.

Competitors will have one official attempt at the course and their official result will be recorded from their first fall, but they will be able to attempt each remaining obstacle once until all have been attempted so all competitors get an opportunity to display all their abilities in an unofficial capacity.

There is no overall time limit, but competitors will be limited to 20 seconds of rest between each obstacle, with the exception of Warped Walls, which will be limited to 30 seconds of rest between each attempt to scale the wall.

Competitors will be ranked based on furthest/fastest, with points awarded based on where a competitor ranks at the event, with bonuses for finishing the course and placing on the podium for their division and the overall podium.

Points are used to rank competitors on our national standings, which dictate the seeding at Finals events.

Finals Qualification

The top competitors in each division will qualify for their respective Finals events, which will be held at Geelong Ninjas in October.

The number of Finals spots available in each division will range from 1 to 5 based on the number of competitors in that division at this qualifier.

Successful qualifiers will be notified by the NCL via email – this is the only source of official confirmation, there may be reviews that take place that could change placings announced by in-person event staff.

Tickets

Competitors are allowed a discounted $25 debut ticket at their first event each season. All other qualifier tickets cost $50.

Registrations are made through the Ninja Challenge League website and close at midnight on the Sunday before the event or when the event/division sells out. Each youth division is capped at 20 competitors for each division.

Competition Course Practice

If you’re attending the Ninja Challenge League competition on March 2nd, you’re welcome to book in to practice the course in preparation.

In the training sessions, the course will be set up and a coach will be there to help out with pointers and suggestions of what to practice. We recommend ninjas try each of the obstacles at least once, and then they are welcome to spend time on any that are more difficult for them. If they are able to complete all of the obstacles on their first attempt without too much effort, they’re welcome to work on their efficiency by putting the whole course together.

Here is the course demonstration and rules to get familiarise with before the day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9d2dVuggoRk

Kids and Mature Kids: 5:15pm-6pm
